Mega Absol ex 180/132

Released in Mega Evolution on September 26, 2025, Mega Absol ex 180/132 is a Special Illustration Rare illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita. It is one of three versions of Mega Absol ex found in the expansion, alongside the regular 086/132 and Ultra Rare 161/132 printings. While those two versions were illustrated by aky CG Works, the Special Illustration Rare received completely separate artwork from Arita.

The card was first released in Japan through Mega Brave, where the same artwork appears as Mega Absol ex 089/063. Its English collector number of 180/132 places it among the secret-numbered cards found beyond Mega Evolution's 132-card main set.

The release was particularly significant for Absol collectors as it brought Mega Absol back to the Pokémon TCG roughly a decade after its original XY-era Mega Absol cards. It also reunited Absol with Mitsuhiro Arita, an artist responsible for several cards from Absol's early TCG history. Unlike the other Mega Absol ex printings in the set, 180/132 gives Arita's artwork the full Special Illustration Rare treatment, making it one of the most prominent Absol cards he has illustrated.
