Absol 1/97 EX Dragon Reverse Holo Rare

Released in EX Dragon on November 24, 2003, Absol 1/97 was also available as a Reverse Holo alongside the standard Holo Rare. Illustrated by Naoyo Kimura, both versions share the same artwork and collector number, but feature different foil treatments.

The Reverse Holo was part of EX Dragon’s parallel foil set, giving collectors an alternate version of cards from the expansion. Unlike the standard Holo, which applies foil to the artwork window, the Reverse Holo shifts the foil treatment to the card outside the illustration.

As one of Absol’s earliest English TCG releases, the Reverse Holo is an alternate printing of Absol’s first appearance in the EX Dragon expansion and comes from the distinctive e-Reader era of the Pokémon TCG.
